Size had to be just so and I needed a lid and not too expensive. The Hamilton Beach 94103 pan fit the bill. I love it!

(More customer reviews)Okay, while these may not fend off an intruder like my trusty iron skillet, this set of Farberware non-stick frying pans is a dependable, long-lasting set of attractive cookware. Both pans feel comfortable to the grip due to proportionately-sized, tightly riveted handles with matching rubbery trim. I like the bright red color; after several years of daily use, the paint hasn't chipped yet. The ridged bottoms make for even heat dispersion and the interior finish is long-lasting and stick-free. The smaller pan is great for omelets and the larger pan can just fit two slices of bread for French toast or three large chicken filets. The only thing missing are two glass lids, but I use lids I already own instead, so no biggie there. For some reason, Amazon priced these at $8 plus shipping one Christmas (I know, huh?), so I was able to snag an excellent deal. I looked for them last Christmas, too, hoping to find a similar offer, but no dice. I'm a tightwad, but I'd still pay close to retail because it's a good product and would make for a useful and attractive wedding or housewarming gift.

(More customer reviews)This is our second skillet like this. The first lasted for years before the finish started coming off of the interior so we decided to buy another just like it. The skillet cooks evenly and the heat is easy to control. We purchased through Amazon and J&R Music was the retailer who actually got the order. J&R ships items in the original manufacturers box wrapped only in plastic for protection. The first unit was damaged during shipment and that is when the nightmare began. It was supposed to have been a Christmas gift for my wife and I made that clear when I reported the damage back in early December. They drug their feet making promises of second day delivery and better packaging on the replacement. Bottom line we didn't receive the replacement until December 29th. It wasn't shipped second day as promised, it didn't make it in time for Christmas as promised and once again the box arrived damaged because they only wrapped it in plastic again. Buy the skillet but avoid J&R. Those people just don't get it!
