(More customer reviews)I bought this grill because I live in an apartment with no patio. I must say it works just great. I still haven't quite figured out if the aroma scenter in truly useful or not but that doesn't matter. If you are good at marinating meat before cooking this grill is ideal. A bit hard to clean, but I found a good scrub brush and dishwasher cycle does the trick. All in all there are a lot of griddles, Foreman type grills, and grill pans but I found the DeLonghi Healthy Grill to be the best in preparing meat with perfect grill marks if your into that type of thing. All in all its worth the price and better than the competition out there.

(More customer reviews)I love my meal maker express.I have the extra large so that I can cook all of my lunch chicken at once and be done with it.The plates pop out easily to clean.My only problems with it are that it is difficult to keep the juices from getting down into the element compartment, which can make it difficult to clean.As long as you are on top of wiping that area every few times you cook, then you're good.Also, since we use it all of the time, the plate coating degrades after about a year.You can order new plates directly from Hamilton Beach.
I've had a few other brands of indoor grill, but this one is the best.

(More customer reviews)This is the 2nd generation model, I have the 1st at home and use it CONSTANTLY!I use it to grill meat (any kind), as a panini press (from fancy Cubanos to 5-minute grilled cheese for my four-year-old), as a quesadilla maker, and recently discovered its true hidden talent...bacon.Cooks it faster, crisper and leaner than any fry pan.The only negative is cleanup; the cooking surfaces aren't removable so you have to wash and rinse them without getting too much water near the electrical components on the bottom of the grill.

NOT just a fancy Foreman.I had one of those and it doesn't compare.First and foremost the biggest difference is the floating hinge.Try grilling something thick on a Foreman and it'll cook the sides unevenly since it can't close around the whole steak.Also this gets much hotter (1500 watts).And finally the nonstick surface on this is very good in its durability (no nicks or marks after 3 years of heavy use) and its nonstick-edness.If you grill a sandwich with cheese and the cheese melts out the side, it will actually stay with the sandwich rather than stick to the grill!

Looks like this one is reconditioned and I bought mine new so I can't speak to the condition.But if mine broke today I'd drop the $180 for a new one in a heartbeat.

Appreciate and enjoy freshly grilled foods all year round with this 1500-watt die-cast indoor barbeque and grill. Its top and bottom scratch-resistant aluminum plates each provide 184 square inches of nonstick cooking surface. A convenient solid die-cast lock mechanism holds the top plate in a secure, upright position when loading and unloading the grill. Return the grill to the closed position, switch the lock to "open grill" and the grill expands into a 368-square-inch indoor barbeque, featuring both ribbed and flat plates for cooking everything from eggs to steak, with authentic barbeque results. Close the unit and it automatically resets into safe-contact grill mode.
The top plate can also be adjusted to six pre-set heights. Lower settings reduce the weight pressing upon more delicate foods like fish or vegetables; higher settings work well for making open-melt sandwiches or heating pizzas or breads. The appliance also offers a "tilt" feature that adjusts the angle of the grill's lower plate, as well as an "angle" position for low-fat cooking, draining fat into the unit's dishwasher-safe drip tray. (More customer reviews)I am very pleased with this product.I have the smaller Foreman Grill but needed something larger and this was it.With removable grills, the clean up was much easier than the Foreman grill.Another advantage of this grill over the Foreman grills is the oil drainage trays are built inside and do not just sit on the counter waiting to be knocked over.Make sure to spray the trays with cooking oil prior to using.I have cooked 2-3 lb London Broils, semi boneless steaks, chicken breast and ground beef with this grill and love it.I used it twice just this weekend and am really pleased.It is not 100% the same as outdoor BBQ grilling but for indoors year round cooking, it is fine.

(More customer reviews)I only had raclette once before ordering this, so I don't have a connoisseur's understanding of it all, but I can say that this grill does a great job for my family and I.I like the idea of the granite top better than a metal one.It just seems cleaner and maybe healthier for you.The pans and scrapers are fine and it actually heated up for cooking in less time than the other raclette I had before.The granite seemed to stain a little and was somewhat difficult to clean, but I really don't mind.You only see the stains when it's heating up and before any food goes on it.After that, it's covered in meats and vegetables, and that's all that really matters!

(More customer reviews)This is my first electric grill so I needed more information than this product provides. Under safety precautions, it says to put water in the tray but when you go to read the operating section, it doesn't mention it so you don't know how much water to put in the tray. Plus, there are absolutely no recipes so you can get the hang of your new grill so I had to buy a separate book about it but even it has recipes that are too gourmet for me so although I think it is probably a good product, the documentation is sorely lacking. When I went to their website, it is in another country and it crashed my PC, so that wasn't helpful either. Will probably not buy another product from this company.

Olvida 13 Inch Nickel Plated Cast Iron Skillet Review

(More customer reviews)Cooks Illustrated reviewed this product favorably and was the catalyst for my purchase.To have something with all the benefits of cast iron and the benefits of stainless steel was worth the extra expense.

It's pretty disappointing that these expecations were never met.

The skillet arrived with a "hole" in the cooking surface about the size of a pinhead.I was very concerned about this and tried to contact Olvida directly about it.Turns out Olvida is just a marketing label and this product is turned out by a small plating foundry in the Eastern United States. After expressing my concern about the hole, I was told not to worry about it as the nickel plating was 100% covered and was safe to use.

Still not convinced, I cooked up a pair of cheap pieces of meat just to put it through a single use cycle.Olive oil, pork, spices - it cooked evently but was an absolute pain to clean.The finish was marred, discolored and showed very uneven heating discoloration.I followed the directions for cleaning and then put it in the dishwasher once it cooled.

When I pulled it out, that single pin hole I was concerned about showed it's true colors.Rust. The assurances that I was given that the product was safe and as described were false.

Save your money, get a regular cast iron or a ceramic cast iron and put the elbow grease into maintaining it.It'll be worth it in the long run.
Do not purchase this product.

Lodge Logic L8SGP3 Pre-Seasoned Square Grill Pan Review

(More customer reviews)It's cast iron, so you can run this pan as hot as you dare to sear the flavor in. Makes excellent burgers and brats, with nice grill marks but no burned spots, even when well-done. Try that with a George Foreman and your burger will be black outside and dryer than the Mojave Desert inside.
The square pan provides plenty of room to fry up a few burgers and the hot juices in the bottom are made-to-order for sauteeing a few mushrooms, onions, or peppers to go on top. The handle is fatter than older Lodge designs and quite ergonomic as long as you're wearing an oven mitt. Cleans nicely by boiling a little water in the pan and giving it a quick scrub with a stiff round natural-bristle vegetable brush and the hottest water that'll come out of the tap.
I would recommend this pan over the 11.5" one Lodge also offers because the thicker bottom, smaller sides, and deeper walls of the 10.5" pan provide fairly even heat over the entire grill surface.It appears that the 11.5" pan is based on the griddle of the same size, and my 11.5" griddle is hot near the center and cooler near the edges when used on a burner - OK for hash browns, but bad for burgers, grilled cheese, and such.
Excellent product; if you can't grill outside, this pan is the next best thing!
