(More customer reviews)I have used this kind of roaster for the holidays over the years and love them. It keeps the Turkey so moist and cooks very even.
The problem I have with this new one is it is made in China not the USA like my other one. The new one is not as heavy and the quality of workmanship not up to par. I never found it on the internet as a recalled item so I kept it but still am not really confortable with products made in CHINA because of the lead content in allot of their products.

(More customer reviews)When my mom cooked for us while we were growing up, she used Magnalite pots. That's one of my sensory memories: Mom tapping the spoon on the side after stirring something, making a deeply satisfying DONG sound (uhhhh, the pot, not Mom). She lost all her Magnalite pots in Hurricane Katrina, so when my parents bought a new home, my siblings and I got my Mom the whole Magnalite set and this pot to set her straight again. She was ecstatic to have something familiar again, and she's still as happy nearly two years later. OK, she's not constantly as happy. Sometimes she gets mad at my dad when he feeds the dog jelly beans. But still. Totally worth it.

(More customer reviews)My mother always used Guardian Service cookware, bought back in the early 1950's, which was the ultimate in cookware then, also being cast aluminum. I inherited her cookware (which they no longer make) but not until I had already purchased a Magnalite set, which is the closest match to the Guardian Service. It is true waterless cooking. Easy clean up. I never had to "season" mine first (that's usually only done with cast iron cookware) and I've had most of my Magnalite pieces for 30 years. A 15 lb turkey fits in the 15" roaster and I get raves every Thanksgiving . . . the roaster practically makes it's own dark, rich gravy and the turkey meat is so moist! To me, as a devoted family "chef", nothing on the market can beat Magnalite.

(More customer reviews)Absolutely a first class baking dish. Cooks perfectly and cleans easily plus is guaranteed lead and cadmium free. This is a really beautiful piece. Originally I bought a Lodge 4.25 quart roaster and was disappointed with the sandpaper like interior that is difficult to clean. Additionally,the Lodge, coming from China, very well might have lead or cadmium in the enamel mix. So,I bought this and can't be more pleased. The price was less than the Lodge too.

(More customer reviews)I inherited the Magnalite collection from my mother and grandmother, and after 50+ years of hard use, really hard use, I only recently managed to warp the bottom of the skillet on my new Viking (flamethrower) gas stove when I set the heat too high.But I'm still using the skillet!This super heavy duty set cooks the most evenly and cleans up the easiest of any cookware out there.I despise non-stick interiors, and these gratefully have none, and with use are seasoned so well they never stick.I will cheerfully buy new sets for my grandkids and hopefully they will still be using theirs in 50+ years as well.Rice is perfect, browing meats & rue gravy is easy, roasts and soups cook evenly without scortching, and cleanup is fast & easy with a little steel wool.The 11 inch skillet size is perfect for fried chicken and browning meats of all types.Best cookware ever made, at a real bargain of a price!!

(More customer reviews)I have had other electric skillets over the years-never one as good as this one.Holds a roast -the high lid is a big plus,fries eggs etc.etc. It is just one great skillet. It cooks evenly,heats up fast, very easy to clean.
Washes up with a squirt of soap and a plastic scrubby-no need for the dishwasher.
I may not need my stove top anymore.
