I ordered this set & when it arrived the plastic lids were cracked. I returned it for another set & those lids were cracked also. I have a nice set of Revere bowls bought from a Revere store. These are not the same quality.

My husband bought this for me as an anniversary present (I have been wanting one for ages)!I absolutely love it.Even though it is time intensive, standing at the stove, you get rewarding results! The woodenhandle prevents you from getting any burns; just make sure you don't touchthe other handle--ouch!Unlike a waffle iron, you don't need to grease thekrumkake iron.It seasons itself during the first use!I would recommendthis product to anyone who loves good, old-fashioned taste and who doesn'tmind spending a couple of hours achieving it.

Paula Deen Signature Cast Iron Ginger Bread House Mold Review

Paula Deen Signature Cast Iron Ginger Bread House Mold
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This mold is extremely heavy (being cast iron) and would not be good for people that have trouble lifting or using heavy things. Of course the upside of that is that it will last for ages if taken care of. The thing about this mold that I don't like is that you have to do your baking in two stages, since it is all in one piece; bake cooking on one side, then bake cookies on the other once the first bath are done. I would much have prefered a mold that was two pieces both so that it would be less heavy, and so that all the baking could be done at once.

Farberware Chroma 5 Piece Bakeware Set Review

Farberware Chroma 5 Piece Bakeware Set

I have owned this set a little more than a month now. Made 4 cakes and 1 set of blueberry muffins. They all have handles which I really like because it makes gripping the pans easy without your mitts hitting the dough. They are also a breeze to clean. All my cakes and muffins slid right out of the pan, of course you have to remember to coat your pans.

I purchased the Old Mountain Fryer with Lid.I was very happy with your picture. It was exactly what I was looking for. I received my product and the lid does not fit correctly. That made me very unpleased with the product. What I wanted the pan for did not work. The gap between the pan and the lid prevented an even heat distribution. Product was unevenly cooked. Not happy.E.D.Ayala

Emeril Enameled Cast Iron Deep Dish Lasagna Baker Review

Emeril Enameled Cast Iron Deep Dish Lasagna Baker
Average Reviews:

Absolutely a first class baking dish. Cooks perfectly and cleans easily plus is guaranteed lead and cadmium free. This is a really beautiful piece. Originally I bought a Lodge 4.25 quart roaster and was disappointed with the sandpaper like interior that is difficult to clean. Additionally, the Lodge, coming from China, very well might have lead or cadmium in the enamel mix. So,I bought this and can't be more pleased. The price was less than the Lodge too.

I am so sorry this pan didn't work out.I used both the large and small skillet for a few months and then everything started sticking to them.I took back the larger one after this happened and got a brand new one, which everything started sticking to again after very little use.I cook with olive oil, no PAM, and have never used it on high heat.It is super hard now to clean.Scrambled eggs completely coat it and it takes a lot of work to clean them off.

Lodge Cast-Iron 12" Skillet - Black Review

Lodge Cast-Iron 12' Skillet - Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a superior item. I have had a few cast iron pieces before and was always looking for one that would solve a few of my hang ups. Namely: The handles get too hot and they look like an item from an old western camp cook out.

I have always loved my cast iron iron cookware, they are virtually indestructable, cook evenly and clean up is a snap. I have had a 12" skillet for 5 years and used it about 2-5 times a week, every week for those 5 years. Very heavy usage because of the reasons stated above. That skillet was seasoned to perfection. Eggs would slide off of it like they were cooked on glass. My only hang up was that I was constantly burning my hand on the handles, and those of you how have experience with cast iron know that the hot handles are unforgiving when you pick one up after it has been on the stove top. Unforgiving indeed.

My girlfriend has a complete set of Calphalon cookware. It's great looking in our modern style kitchen and preforms okay. The heat distribution isnt as even as my cast iron and I hate the fact that I have to use specific tools (non metallic) that wont damage the non stick surface. Once the non stick surface is scratched the $150 Calphalon pan is ruined.

I saw this skillet online and decided to give it a try. This skillet seems to solve all my problems. It looks as great as my girlfriends pricey Calphalon and it preforms to prefection.I opened the package, which was substantial for protecting the pan during shipping, the pan arrived in mint condition. I immediately loved the look and weight of the pan. Lighter than my old 12" skillet. However, the look and weight are more for my vanity, but I bought it to cook food better not jsut sit on my stove top looking great, the preformance would be the real test. My eyes glazed over as I got the idea of frying up some eggs or maybe a burger right then. I rinsed it off (and towel dryed it) and turned toward my fridge for something to try it out with. What to do, what to do?....ah, BACON. Perfect, I wanted the first test to be on a fatty food to aid in the seasoning. On the first 4 strips went. I have to say, I thought the pre-seasoning was a gimic and that I would have to season the pan myself. The bacon didnt stick at all, even before the fat sizzled up. The heat was even and it cooked as well as any cast iron does. Perfection. My next 4 strips went on. Everything is perfect, I can use any tongs I have including my easy to grip metal ones. Cast iron is virtually indestructable. It's doing great! As I was distracted over the brillance of my beautiul yet functional new toy, I reached down to move the pan off the burner without thinking that it was hot (I make this mistake all too often), in the instant that my hand closed on the handle, I thought, "Oops, this is going to hurt". But low and behold, the steel handle was actually still room tempature after doing 8 strips of bacon. So was the assist handle on the other side. I have since found that it stays cool to enough to touch through out alnost all of my stovetop applications (it does heatup in the oven though as one would expect).

I have found a true heirloom piece.

I have since used it enough that the seasoning has built up even more and it is just about where my 5 year old workhorse skillet was before I retired it to camping duty. The eggs are starting to roll off my new skillet like glass.

It cleans only with water and a dedicated non-soap scrubber. It cleans easier than any pan I have and looks like new (except for the seasoned inner surface). I also wipe it down with salt and olive oil every so often.

My friends and relatives envy the pan whenever they visit. So, it also solved another problem of mine, what to get my loved ones for holiday gifts.

Lodge Logic Pre-Seasoned Cornbread Wedge Pan Review

Lodge Logic Pre-Seasoned Cornbread Wedge Pan
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am very glad that I finally picked up this piece!I have several Lodge pieces and they are all very important pieces in my kitchen.

I would like it to be a little bit larger and was also kind of hoping it would come with some basic cooking instructions. But, since I am fairly experienced with cast iron, I didn't have a hard time figuring out the best way to use this pan.

If anybody out there is thinking about getting it, or has already purchased this pan and has yet to master it, here is what I have come up with -

1)Preheat your oven (I use 450F for cornbread).THEN, put a small amount ofbutter (or whatever fat it is that you prefer) in the wedges and kind of brush it around so that it will coat both the sides and the bottom.Put the pan in the preheated oven to get it nice and hot.

2)Meanwhile, have your cornbread batter ready to go.I found that it takes about half of the recipe that I was using in an 8" square Pyrex previously.Take the pan out of the oven (I have one of those Lodge skillet handle potholders that works great).IMMEDIATELY, spoon the batter into the wedges.I have found (through trial & error) that filling each well to about 3/16" from the top works great.Get it right back in the oven. For me, 15-16 minutes baking time seemed to be about perfect.

As long as you heat up the pan and the fat that you use in the pan (I prefer a little tiny bit of butter in each well), it will cook evenly and nothing will stick to the pan.I mean, there isn't even residue in the corners or anything. The pan looked clean when I removed the cornbread.I did this several times with identical results.

One more hint for the day - If you want to additionally season the pan (I did this before the first time I used it), scrub it out and dry it VERY well.Place a thin coat of Crisco over every surface of the pan.Don't slather it on thickly, and be sure that the top surfaces don't have any excess (I gently run a paper towel over the top ridges of the pan). Preheat the oven to 400-425F.Put the pan in the oven upside down, so that there is less surface area on the oven rack, and leave it in the hot oven for at least anhour.Turn off the oven, leaving the pan inside to cool of its own accord. You will have a beautifully seasoned pan that doesn't have the residue that you get using oil.
