(More customer reviews)Such mixed reviews on these pans!I had to order these twice because as another reviewer stated..lousey packaging.They arrived damaged.While Ihave not noticed the nonstick coming off, I do have to agree that these are not a good 5 year pan.They are poorly balanced, that meaning the handle is heavier than the pan and it will not sit flat on the burner, everything you cook slides toward the handle. I'll continue to use these until I find a replacement....then out they go!

Tramontina Pro 3004 12 in Saute Pan Review

(More customer reviews)This is a beautiful and very well built nonstick frying pan.It has nice thick aluminum and a solid looking Teflon surface.But it has one serious design problem:the handle is so thick, long, and heavy that when placed on an electric burner---the large as well as small ones---the handle makes the pan tip, so that most of the bottom of the pan isn't even contacting the heating element.If you pour in an egg or batter at this point, it will flow to one side.

If you have one of those completely flat stove tops, or a gas range with a 12" wide support frame, the pan should be able to lie flat.But the handle is so long, it is hard to keep it out of the way of other burners or things on your counter top.

If this pan had a 2" shorter handle, it would be really superb.

Since the silicone handle cover over the aluminum handle is removable, if you just HAVE to have this pan---and you own a metal saw--- you could saw 2 inches off the handle, and be in bliss.Or, more practically, you could hook some counterweight to the edge opposite the handle and keep it flat on the burner that way.

(More customer reviews)For the price, I have to admit this is not bad cookware.It's not your top of the line, but I wanted something dishwasher safe, with side pour spouts and I got exactly what I wanted.Don't know how long it will last, but even if it's only a few years that's okay.I didn't give it 5 stars because it's just not 5 star quality cookware; however, it heats evenly and so far it does well in my dishwasher.Other cookware that is colored on the outside seems to fade over time in a dishwasher and this being stainless-steel I don't have that problem.It is teflon coated so that is another plus providing it doesn't wear off - only time will tell.

(More customer reviews)i agree that the pan does have a certain limited life expectancy, especially under heavy use...but for those moderate cooks, it will hold up for a few years.I have had mine for about 2.5 years and i am a moderate cook myself.It is a great pan at a great price.Good heat distribution and light-weight materials, yet rather sturdy.The handle does wobble a bit, but its stayed in place just fine.This is my pan of choice for browning or caramelizing onions and garlic!! C'est magnifique!!Great pan at this price!!!

(More customer reviews)In the first Indiana Jones film, Marian whacks a bad guy on the head with a frying pan and he goes down hard (I think he died)...meet that frying pan. Its painted like a sexy Lamborghini and is NOT light. The ceramic coating is NOT Teflon and won't flake off when you decide to boil water in it. I've fried eggs with a little butter (this isn't really non-stick), fried fish sticks, and made Chinese noodles ...all with no problems...and cleaned up the pan with water and a sponge.
The only thing that stuck a little (left a "ghost print" which eventually scrubbed off) were Chinese steamed dumplings. I've got this and the 9.5 inch frying pan and am contemplating the 8 inch model. I live in Germany, so the price isn't so insane! Keep your eyes peeled for Silit Silargan cookware like this...I can't imagine you'll be disappointed!

All-Clad Cop-R-Chef 12-Inch Fry Pan Review

(More customer reviews)This is my benchmark pan.Most of my collection is All-Clad Stainless.Generally speaking, I consider All-clad to be a standard for servicable cookware.Myself as well as many in my extended family have had heaps of junk fraudulently sold as cookware.I cannot believe some of the pathetic things others use.It's cupped, coned, damaged or sticks and heats so unevenly you can see it on the food.

All-Clad on the other hand has nothing to be ashamed of.It is not exactly luxury stuff though.The copper here is mostly a decorative layer -- which is lost on my wife who insists on scrubbing any marks out of it -- in lieu of the stainless layer on that line.This is not like the French copperwares with several millimiters thick copper and a tin or sterling silver lining.

From my experience, All-Clad is All-Clad and the main difference between the various lines is the color of the outside metal.The layers on a 5-layer pan are so thin I doubt they're appreciably different than 3 thicker layers.Whatever -- pick your color and enjoy a consistent, well-made stainless-lined pan.Pick out a Lodge cast iron pan and Le Creuset's enameled iron and you'll have a pan for almost every job.Forget the non-stick -- they're disposable.The pans (All-Clad) are the same but the lining is no better than the multitude.It lasts about a year in my kitchen and then it's toast.That's a shame because a stainless lined pan for the same cost should last a lifetime.

Henckels Classic Clad Fry pan without Lid Review

(More customer reviews)First, note there is no lid included, as the illustrations in the product description might lead you to believe.
This is a big pan, and if you fry things in big batches (I like to make spaghetti sauce in 4 gallon batches, with a proportionate amount of hamburger frying), this works great.It heats evenly and cleans easily, and the quality is top-drawer.When you cook eggs, the ones on the outside of the pan cook at the same rate as the one in the middle, something you don't get with all frying pans.
On the downside, the handle is very heavy.So when you sit it on the stove to preheat (empty), it overbalances to the handle side, rather than sitting flat on the burner.And a pan this size could use a ring, or grip, on the side opposite the handle, as many other pans have.When you have 2 or 3 lbs of hamburger inside, and want to drain the fat, it's trick balancing things with just the single handle.
I did some digging, and couldn't find anything better for the price, so I'm willing to live with the shortcomings.They are annoying but not deal-breakers.Until something better comes along, this is a good buy.

It's a great piece of cookware, I've been very satisfied with the all the outcomes.It has been very convenient going from stove top to the oven and the nonstick feature makes it very easy to clean.Great alternative to the crock pot as far as taste.The only reason I gave it four stars is because the bottom of the pan, looking in, started to become a faint multi-color.. not sure if this is supposed to happen.It's not rust, it's still smooth and definitely still usable, but it's just no longer solid black.

(More customer reviews)I felt so guilty about spending the money on this when I first placed the order, and yet I was getting sick to death (perhaps literally) of Teflon pans, of skillets (even stainless steel ones) "Made in China" that seemed to impart weird flavors to my morning bacon and eggs, et al.The vague feelings of guilt persisted -- until the pan arrived and I started using it.This is wonderful cookware: it uses a substantially lower flame for cooking than other skillets I have, it cooks with amazingly even distribution of heat, and -- this was one of my biggest concerns -- it cleans very easily, I've experienced little difference between cleaning this and cleaning Teflon skillets.So, the comparable Teflon-coated skillet I once used has now been cheerfully tossed into the trash.True: few of us can afford a whole line of Mauviel Cuprinox, but really you should have at least one of these in your kitchen; I feel much safer cooking my food in it, and ultimately it's a lifetime investment.

(More customer reviews)I had a whole set of Calphalon Commercial Nonstick cookware.After 10 years, the finish starting peeling off the 12-inch frying pan.I sent the pan back to Calphalon stating that I never used metal in my pans but the finish was peeling anyway.They sent me a brand new Calphalon One pan as a replacement.I so appreciate a company that stands behind their promises and doesn't accuse the consumer for abusing the product and voiding any warranties.
