(More customer reviews)I found this set to be the best buy for getting the basics. The non-stick pans are great for sautéing and eggs come out unbelievable. There is a good variety in this set. The handles have a sturdy construction and are always cool to the touch. Having glass lids is also helpful to watch food without loosing heat while cooking. I cook a lot and buy many different types of cookware depending on what I'm making, so this set is a good base to start with and build on.

(More customer reviews)I got this item this past week and have used it 3 times.It looks beautiful right out of the packaging but the looks don't hold up.The lustre turned lack lustre after the first washing.After the 3rd washing the inside of the pan looks like I've had it at least a year, there are lines and discoloration.I followed manufacturers recommedations and cooked over a low heat and seasoned before the first use.It does heat quickly in that respect I would give it 5 stars.It's listed as 10.25 inches but is actually 10.5 inches.

Two notes for those thinking about buying this:

This insert is for the TALL 8 quart Emerilware stock pot, not for the short one that comes in the 14 piece set.(I had to go out and buy the tall pot so I could use this)

This insert will add about 3 inches to the top of your tall stock pot, so make sure you have clearance - I can only _just_ fit it on my stove, with lid on, because I've got an over-stove microwave oven and vent combo.

After only 2 washings of this pan coating is already coming off on side. Only good thing about this pan is the cushioney handle.

(More customer reviews)While searching for a healthier alternative to metal cookware, and especially (toxic) teflon, I found Xtrema Ceramic Cookware.I didn't purchase it through an Amazon seller, so I can't rate the seller.I bought mine at ceramcor(dot)com with free shipping.But since I saw this cookware here at Amazon, I thought I would give it a review.

So far I purchased the 5.5 quart covered saucepan, the 12 in. covered skillet and the 10 in. skillet.The 10 in. skillet doesn't come with a cover, but the 5.5 qt saucepan cover fits it perfectly.This cookware only took me a couple of meals to get the hang of.My husband and I absolutely love it!When stovetop cooking, we learned fast that it heats up real quick and only needs the medium heat setting or lower... especially if you cook without the cover.When your food is done cooking you want to remove the cookware from the burner because your food will continue to cook as the heat is retained for a long time, which is perfect for setting it on the dinner table if you want to keep your food hot.My first experience was not good.Being used to cooking with high heat (for only a few minutes) before lowering the temp, I over-cooked my meal and it stuck pretty badly to the pan.I soaked it overnight with warm water and dish liquid and it cleaned up just like a teflon pan, no kidding!Needless to say, they clean up like a breeze when you're "not" burning anything, lol!It has a non-scratch, non-toxic ceramic glaze surface.You can use brillo pads on these and they won't scratch, but so far I've only needed a regular kitchen scrub sponge.This cookware can be used in the oven, stovetop, broiler, freezer, grill, microwave and dishwasher... very versatile! What I love best about this cookware is using the cover when cooking on the stovetop.Because the cover is the same material as the pan, your food cooks like a covered casserole in the oven.

This is a long review (sorry!), but just a quick mention... tonight (on the stovetop) we cooked chicken breasts with peppers, onions and garlic with the cover on- at the last few minutes of cooking time I tossed in 3 large, sliced, sweet potatoes (with cover back on) and they cooked super fast, were tender and absorbed all the flavors... no need to cook your potatoes separately!Next time, along with the potatoes, I'll toss in some greens, too, saving me the hassle of cooking with so many pots and pans.

This cookware is expensive, but other than being durable and long-lasting, if you read all the health benefits at the website I mentioned above, you'll agree that it's a healthy investment.I'll never go back to aluminum (which is known to cause alzheimer disease) or toxic teflon... which, btw, if you have pet birds please do not cook with teflon.The fumes are so toxic and are known (and statistics are well documented) to kill birds within a matter of minutes.Their little livers shut down after working overtime trying to detoxify the fumes, this causes fluid to fill their lungs... in turn suffocating them to death :o(Sorry, I didn't mean to end this review on such a sad note, but I think it's very important for everyone to know this.

(More customer reviews)I have been buying my fry pans at a restaurant supply but got tired of the declining quality.This is a very good product.As always, let cool before putting under the water or you will warp the pan bottom I am sure.This is a very sturdy product with a superior non stick finish.I will let you know in five years or so if it held up to my expectations.By the way, it holds a whole meal for a family.I really like that versus two or three skillets of cooking, trying to keep the first and second warm while you finish the last.This will be a good purchase for you.

I am a big fan of All Clad- which my parents have- and wanted something that could compete, but wasn't as expensive. I tested this pan against my mom's All Clad 9" non-stick skillet this morning. Here were my results:

This pan heated up slightly slower than the All Clad pan- but only by a second or two. Neither pan needed high temperatures to cook, and both finished eggs at about the same time.

Clean up was SO easy. No scrubbing at all. The finish on this skillet is beautiful. It comes with a 10 year warranty, too (because it is non-stick).

I would recommend this skillet to anyone looking for a great non-stick skillet that cooks evenly, has easy clean up, looks great, and is reasonably priced. The pan is heavy, which is nice for keeping it level on the stove, as well.

GreenPan Stockholm Skillet - 8" - Non-stick Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased a set of this cookware at Target approximately 9 months ago. I have used the skillet to make omlettes 6-10 times a month. I use a smidge of butter for flavor - in the beginning. The pans were non-stick and there were no issues. However, after about three months, the non-stickiness began to wear out and I've got burn marks on the pan that will not come off, despite soaking and hot water and scrubbing with a scratch-resistant sponge. I appreciate the safety factor of the Green Pan over 'traditional' non-stick pans, but I believe I will be looking at another alternative solution so that I do not have to replace the pan every 6 months.

Update:
The pans got to the point by January that they were completely unusable. I could use 3 pats of butter to cook 2 eggs, and I would need 3 more pats to flip the eggs and they would STILL stick.

Target, of course, no longer carries the pans because they suck. I was referred to the manufacturer who first offered to send me replacements (I was quite clear in my email indicating that I had purchased them from Target). I declined as I have since purchased Cuisinart Green Gourmet Cookware set and LOVE THEM. The employee told me they would send me a return label and issue me a refund (in writing). I asked what would be the timeline for receiving refund, when she said it would be forwarded to HSN. I advised her I did not purchase it from HSN as my email stated. She said they couldn't refund it then.I advised her that her oversight was not my problem. I was then treated extremely rude.

If you do research online, you'll see that there are mentions of defective batches and that the Better Homes and Gardens seal is being revoked. They have Facebook pages about how much the Greenpans suck. And I have created a blog dedicated to how much Greenpans suck showing photos of what 'lifetime non-stick' is like as well as the emails I received.
